Candle Care
Candle Safety Instructions
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
- Don't place a burning candle within 2 feet of clothing, books, curtains or anything flammable
- Keep lit candles away from draughts, ceiling fans and air currents. Any form of air current can cause uneven burning, smoking, diminish the scent throw and even decrease the burn time.
- Trim the wick to 5mm each time the candle is lit. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large.
- Place candle holders on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy.
- Never burn your candle for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
- Burning a candle for too long can lead to the container getting too hot and possibly crack or shatter.
- Always leave about 1 cm of wax in the bottom of the jar. Failing to do so can result in the jar becoming too hot and it could crack or shatter.
- Always follow the warning label instructions on the bottom of your candle.
The First Burn is the Most Important!
The first burn should last long enough for the melt pool to reach the outer edges of the jar, this could take 1-3 hours. This is important so that the candle burns evenly, and doesn't create a tunnel down the middle of your candle. This will enable you to get the best performance from your candle.
Recycle Your Jar
To recycle your candle jar simply wash your jar with warm soapy warm and a soft cloth to help remove any wax residue. Once clean you can use your stylish jar as a new vase for fresh flowers or they make wonderful holders for all sorts of bibs and bobs.
